Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20

God has called each of His believers to make disciples. This is to be part of our daily process, sharing our stories and shining God’s light into the dark places of this world. The Greek word here for go is poreuthentes which means, “as you are going”. Our challenge is to hear God’s call on how we go through our days.

Every believer is called to share and every believer has a little different spin on how based on our personalities and experiences. Our prayer isn’t really, “what do you want me to do”, because we already know that…make disciples. Our prayer is, “How do you want me to…”

Frustration comes in waiting to see how God will use us. Some of us, this includes me, have really big dreams and we want them to come true now. Some of us have skills that we are drawn to learn and we want the knowledge now. We forget that transformation, by very nature, is process and that God is a god of faith and building faith requires time. (Drat!)

Noah worked and waited around 120 years to see the ark completed. Abraham waited around 25 years to meet his son, Isaac. The Israelites traveled 40 years to see the Promised Land. Jesus arrived on the scene around 4000 years after the first foretelling of Him in Genesis.

God is about the journey, don’t miss that straining for the end result. I am convinced that if we will follow Jesus’ words in John 15:4-5 and abide in Him, He will faithfully reveal our how as He unfolds His perfect plan in our lives.
