Forgetting God

“Can a virgin forget her ornaments, or a bride her attire? Yet my people have forgotten me days without number.”-Jeremiah 2:32

A young single lady typically cares a great deal about her appearance so she has certain things she would never forget to put on, like make up for example. A bride would never forget to have every last detail in place for her dress from the veil to the jewelry to the shoes.

If we can care so much about our appearance to make sure we don’t forget one little thing, how can we go through life forgetting something so much greater, God? God is so much more important than any of our little details and yet so many of us barely make time to even fire off short prayers let alone actually set aside time to spend in the Word and in deep prayer with God.

I challenge you today to really look at what you deem important or unforgettable and make sure God is at least on the list. Once you put time with Him on your priority list, then work on moving Him to the top. Don’t let there be “days without number” where you forget God.
