Share Your Challenges

“Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.”-Proverbs 28:13

Always share your challenges and sins with a trusted friend who will help hold you up in prayer and accountability. The minute you hide sin and begin to compartmentalize your life, you give that sin control. Sin grows in the darkness, sharing it turns the light on it and it dies.

Keep Steady

“Keep steady my steps according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over me.”-Psalm 119:133

We on our own cannot keep ourselves walking with God. We will always choose sin and give something besides God the power or dominion over our lives. God, through His amazing love for us and abiding strength, IS able to keep us walking steadily with Him so long as we put Him first and do what He is asking or not do what we know is against His plan.

Ask God to keep you steady. Ask Him to clearly point out the pitfalls along the path and steer you where He wants you to go. Have the faith in His power and listen for His voice. He’s with you, never doubt that.

Testimonies

Your testimonies are my heritage forever, for they are the joy of my heart.”-Psalm 119:111

A testimony is a declaration of something having happened and the explanation of its impact. God’s word is FULL of testimonies about a challenge faced and either overcome or helped by Him. Spending time in the scriptures is the only way to learn these testimonies and they are critical for joy in your life. When you see what God has done in other people’s lives, you will believe stronger in what He will do in your life.

Delight in the Path

“Lead me in the Path of your commandments, for I delight in it.”-Psalm 119:35

I don’t hike. I walk on paved, flat-as-possible sidewalks if I’m going to travel by foot. However, not long ago I allowed myself to get talked into walking on a wooded path that really for me was a hike.

This path had lots of ups and downs, many narrow areas that dropped off down into woods and large roots and rocks to climb over. I was miserable! The ups seemed endless. The downs were too steep. To roots felt like mountains to climb. I had to keep stopping to rest because my heart was beating out of my chest! I was longing for a flat, paved sidewalk. However, when the hike was over I felt a sense of joy and accomplishment that I had done it! It hard and I honestly wasn’t sure how to keep going but I did. What I missed though,  was the beauty around me. I wasn’t delighting in the path.

Following God’s expectations, commandments, in life is like my hike. There are ups and downs, narrow areas, and large challenges to climb over. Yet, I’m convinced that in order to journey well we have to find the delight in the journey knowing that with each step we come closer to the destination…a close walk with God here and an eternity with Him in heaven.

Delight in the path that God has you on. Take time to praise Him for every new experience no matter how challenging. 🙂 Live in His love, grace, peace and mercy.

God’s Word

“I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. “-Psalm 119:11

Lots of people tell me that they don’t read the bible. There are always different reasons: don’t understand the words, can’t relate, find it boring, etc. The one reason that floors me the most is, “it’s just not for me”. Actually, it IS just for you!

You can’t have a deep relationship, you can’t know what God expects, you can’t learn god’s character, you can’t rely on his promises unless you are reading his Word! Read it, store it up in your heart, make it a priority to know God better and you will be amazed at everything! It will transform your life.

Love the Lord

“I love the Lord, because He has heard my voice and my pleas for mercy. Because He inclined His ear to me, therefore I will call on Him as long as I live.”-Psalm 116:1-2

I love God. I love loving God and devoting my every moment to Him. God rescued me not only from eternal death,  He rescued me from death here on earth as well.

When I gave my life fully to God, 100% with reckless abandon, it was because He had brought me through one of the darkest times in my life. I was so unfaithful to Him and yet He was completely faithful to me. He rescued me from pain and anger that was deep and brought me, and continues bringing me, to a place of joy and peace. For that, I will call on Him, follow Him and praise Him all the days of my life here on earth and for eternity.

God is with you no matter what you are going through right now. Dare to risk it all and trust Him. He won’t let you down. Live in His love, grace, peace and mercy. If you need a prayer partner, message me or email me at kaprayingforyou@gmail.com.
